Missing

I've been missing
for a little while
My heart don't wanna smile
So it's out until Monday
For a short weekend vacay
But it's been out "until Monday"
Since just before last May
Now we're in a cold season
I see my heart coming back
in the distance
screaming out
"I'm freezing!"

20 years

In twenty years
will I be wise?
and divorced
and surprised
That my kids
are grown
and people are dead
and friends
have vanished
like these thoughts
in my head?

Breakfast

Morning coffee
is a snake
slithering down my throat
startling my insides
waking me for day
Morning coffee is the color of honey
I only use a little cream
My tongues feels it's been thawed out
My breakfast is caffeine.
